Running is a Privilege

Moving is a Privilege

The title of this article comes from the place where I got my strength back: Runmaker. This team, founded by a person that gently with love and service changes our lives through running.

Nine months ago we were leaving a hospital and starting from zero again. No physical strenght but loads of gratitude, love and will to live better. Today, we finished a half marathon.

The approach towards sports and work changed 180°. It is not anymore about the speed, how fit we are, neither about what people think. And at work, it is not anymore about a simple budget or the title we have. It is about life and the joy, love and service we put in this journey that we can’t predict when it gets to an end.

Since then, having the dream of a 70.3 has become into real life. A goal with one objective: celebrating life, celebrating that we can move, sweat, hug, laugh and love. Celebrating that we are still here with one more chance of spending time with our loved ones and making this place a better one.

When at hospital I used to look through the window and think of the GIFT that means “to be well”. To be capable of. How lucky we are of waking up and having our bodies healthy. How lucky we are of having one more day to spend with our closest ones. Cause at the end of the day, what matters the most is to be fine so we get to spend time with those we love while we work for a better world. That’s it.

We are far behind from being prepared for the 70.3, but with the courage enough to accept that I’m still not ready but up for getting there.

Living, running, moving are privileges. These are gifts. Life is now.
